It is required to get a health insurance for foreigners, if you like to stay in Turkey more than your visa allows. And if you are going to stay more than your visa time, you will need to apply to residence permit. 

You have to get a private insurance when you apply for residence permit. If you have a travel insurance or any international insurance that covers Turkey, it will work in hospitals but unfortunately it is not recognised by Residence Permit Officers at Immigration Office.

• Minimum 1-year insurance is provided
• There should be the following clause on the health insurance “This policy covers the minimum coverage structure determined within the scope of the Guidelines on Private Insurance Policies to be issued in accordance with Residence Permit requests dated 16.06.2021 and numbered 2021/8.”
• Health insurance can be obtained from insurance agencies or online
• Foreigners under 18 years old and above 65 years old are not required to buy health insurance for Turkish residence permit application.
