Which nationals need a visa to enter Turkey?
Visa rules depend on your nationality and change often, so this page does not keep a country list that could be out of date. Check the current rule for your passport on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mfa.gov.tr) or at evisa.gov.tr, or ask us and we will check it for you.
Turkey Residence Agency is not the official e-Visa website and does not sell e-Visas: apply for an e-Visa only at www.evisa.gov.tr, where the official fee is shown.

The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System was launched on 17 April 2013 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. This system allows visitors travelling to Turkey to easily obtain their e-Visas.
To work in Turkey, you must apply to the nearest Turkish mission to obtain work permit and visa. Your passport, visa application form and a letter from your employer are the necessary documents for your application. Other documents should be submitted to the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) by your employer within ten working days after your application.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a visa to visit Turkey?
Many nationalities can enter visa-free for up to 90 days; others need an e-Visa or a consulate visa. We confirm the rule for your nationality.
How long is a Turkish e-Visa valid?
An e-Visa is valid from the arrival date you choose in the application. Depending on your nationality it allows a stay of 30 or 90 days, and you may not stay more than 90 days in any 180-day period.
Can I work or study on a tourist visa or e-Visa?
No. The e-Visa is for tourism and short business only. To work or study you need the appropriate consulate visa and then a work or residence permit.
Can I extend an e-Visa?
No, an e-Visa cannot be extended. To stay longer you need a residence permit from the Presidency of Migration Management, applied for in Turkey before your permitted stay ends. Anyone can apply for a short-term residence permit for tourism, including in Istanbul in 2026. The Provincial Directorate of Migration Management decides each application, and the decision can be positive or negative, so plan for both outcomes.
How much does a Turkish e-Visa cost?
The fee depends on your nationality, and some nationalities need no visa at all. The official site, evisa.gov.tr, shows the current fee when you apply.
